In 2004, Kanye was furious when he lost best new artist at the American Music Awards to country singer Gretchen Wilson that he stormed out of the ceremony, fuming to reporters. “I was the best new artist of the year!” He even suggested that he was the victim of a sinister conspiracy.
Tonight (Monday) is Jay Leno’s debut at 10pm on NBC—his musical guest—Kanye West!

Larry Gelbart, the award-winning writer who helped create such hits as Broadway’s A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, the films Tootsie and Oh, God! and television’s classic M-A-S-H, is dead. Gelbart died at his Beverly Hills home Friday morning after a long battle with cancer. He was 81.
